We are a small organization seeking to help the average person in getting a handle on their money and demystifying the world of finances.
Our Approach
We approach every client meeting with the same level of discretion as large established firms. No client data is ever shared with anyone for any reason without the consent being expressly given. Client conversations are similarly confidential and details will never be shared with anyone for any reason. Your trust is our biggest asset.
We are not salespersons. We do not sell financial instruments, we do not sell insurance, we do not sell anything that is not tried and true advice. We seek to inform individuals of their financial options and we are here to help our clients make more informed decisions about their financial futures.
We are invested in you. We measure our success by your success and satisfaction with our services. If you are disappointed in anyway with our service, we will do everything within our power to rectify the situation. We are here to serve you and we aim to serve with the highest levels of excellence.
We are not licensed financial advisors. Foolish Financial is built on the idea that many people don’t even know where to start when it comes to their finances. We hope to be the starting place for our clients. However, once their financial situations improve to the point that they can afford a licensed advisor or their financial situation becomes too complex for the scope of our services, we will refer our clients to more specialized financial advisors.
Our Process
At Foolish Financial, our goal is to help you be a little less foolish with your finances. We understand that for many people, a cut and dry formula just doesn’t work and that’s why we tailor our advice to each of our clients for their specific needs. However, we also recognize most our clients have had the greatest success when we walk them through the following process:
- Assess the present. Firstly, we like to gain an understanding of where our clients initially stand. To gain this understanding, we will ask a number of questions to get a feel of where you are and understand any goals, habits, and/or roadblocks you may have.
- Get into the details. Next, we get into the numbers. After we’ve gained a bit of context, we want to get into the nitty-gritty of our client’s finances. We want all the numbers they can throw at us (don’t worry we can handle it).
- Reassess the present. Usually, this is part that our clients really start to see this process come together. We will paint a clearer picture of where they stand, how they got there and what will happen if they continue. This is typically the portion where the most advice is given.
- Look to the future. Now that everyone has a good grasp on what’s going on, we will move onto financial goals. If our clients already have some, great! If not, we can help!
- Prepare for the road ahead. At this point, our clients have a clear vision of things they need to do to bring about their best financial lives. We can’t be there and make decisions for you but, by this point, our clients have a basic understanding of key action items and habits to bring about this change on their own. We typically assign homework at this point.
- Follow up. Lastly, after a set amount of time, we will meet with our clients again to assess their progress (this can be as short as one week and as long as 6 months). Here, we will make necessary tweaks to our plan and help with any implementation issues our clients may have encountered.
At Foolish Financial, we have a number of internally produced products that we use to meet our clients needs. These products, combined with our personalized process with each client, ensure that our clients will have the greatest possible chance at the financial stability they seek.
